One shared record of the game, for every app that serves it.
The BracketLove Player Registry keeps amateur pool players, their playing history and ratings, their teams, and the venues they play in, in one place, so every tournament app, league tool, stats site and room finder can start from the same good data instead of building it again.
What's in it
Everything an app needs to know about who plays, where, and how they've done, kept once and shared.
One profile per player
Names, home area, and a public profile the player can claim as their own, with duplicates found and merged.
Every game, from every app
Competitions, matches and games recorded by any app that runs them, so a player's record follows them everywhere they play.
One skill number
A shared rating per game family, with its history and where each change came from, for fair handicaps and matchups.
Teams and rosters
Who played for whom, and when, across leagues and team events.
Where the game is played
Pool rooms and bars with their tables, regular events, house rules, and even the cameras that stream them.
A catalog of rule sets
Standard rules and house variations, so every app plays the same game by the same rules.
Search by where
Find venues and players near any point, within a radius, nearest first: the rooms around you, or the players in your area.
Why a shared registry
Amateur pool runs on a patchwork of apps, spreadsheets and paper. Each keeps its own copy of the same players, and none of them can see the rest.
- Every app keeps its own copy of the same players, slightly different in each.
- A player's history is scattered across the places they've played.
- Ratings disagree from one event to the next.
- A new product starts with no players, no venues and no history.
- One player, one profile, recognized by every app.
- A complete record that follows them from event to event.
- One shared skill number, with its full history.
- New products build on what's already there, and compete on what they do best.
Open by design
The BracketLove Registry exists to make the whole landscape of amateur pool software better, not to lock data inside one product.
Shared with other apps
Approved partners read the data set through a documented API, and can contribute to it. New contributors' changes are reviewed before they're published.
Private where it should be
People's contact details are never shared with partners. Players can claim their profile, and can ask for it to be erased.
Safe to build against
Every partner gets its own sandbox to develop in, with usage limits to keep the service fast for everyone, and changes that never break existing apps.
Coming next: verified players
We plan to let players confirm their identity, voluntarily, with an ID check. A verified player is known to be who they say they are, so the BracketLove Registry can make stronger guarantees about the accuracy, reliability and integrity of their record: one person, one profile, and a history and rating that really are theirs.
Always the player's choice
Verification is optional. Unverified players keep everything they have today.
Records you can trust
Verified profiles can't be duplicated or claimed by someone else, and their results carry more weight.
Fairer competition
Events and leagues can rely on a verified player's rating and history when they set handicaps and divisions.
Pool first, more sports to come
Pool is where the BracketLove Registry starts. It's built around families of games, each with its own game types, ratings and rules, so the same shared record can serve other amateur sports.
Made for partner integration
The BracketLove Registry isn't only for BracketLove's own apps. It's built from the ground up for other developers to plug into, with everything an integration needs.
A secure API
Industry-standard client credentials and short-lived tokens. Rotate keys any time without downtime.
Just what you need
Access is granted by area: players, ratings, history, teams, venues. Read only, or read and contribute.
Add to the data set
Record results, add venues and players. A new partner's changes are reviewed first; trusted partners write directly.
Live updates
An ordered event feed and signed webhooks keep your copy current as players, results and venues change.
Your own sandbox
Build and test against a private test domain that never touches real data, with the same API.
Your own ids and contacts
Link Players to your own member numbers and keep your own contact details for them, private to you.
A partner portal
See your access and limits, your usage and requests, your pending changes, and manage your keys and your team.
Clear limits
Generous rate and daily limits, reported on every response, so you always know where you stand.
